It was a beautiful, sunny day in south Texas with a high of 65 degrees. I was riding shot-gun in a ratty old S10 that was painted to look like a World War 2 fighter plane. My boyfriend and I were on our way to Gulf Greyhound Park for Lone Star Drift: Drift Clinic.
This was my first time to photograph cars flying by me at around 50 mph. And boy was I excited! Shortly, after showing up I figured out the lens which I had brought along with me would not allow me to safely take photos of the cars. Luckily, one of the drifters and fellow photographer, Ryan Morgan, let me borrow one of his lenses as well as a brightly colored safety vest. (Thank you so much Ryan!! I couldn't have gotten these shots without you.)
Check out are some of the moments I was able to capture down below.
